With the help of many, many wonderful volunteers, Rice Health Foundation's 2009 Holiday Festival was a tremendous success. The proceeds from this year's event benefit the Rice Grief Center. The Grief Center provides grief counseling at no charge to people of all ages, experiencing all types of grief and loss. The funds raised this year will help to meet the increasing need for counseling services to children, schools, young families, and military families.
The Holiday Inn Conference Center was transformed into the Parisian Theatre, Moulin Rouge. The two-day event began on Friday night with a Gala Dinner & Auction. On Saturday, guests could look at beautiful table settings; shop at a variety of business vendor booths;, listen to wonderful musical entertainment; and, enjoy a special holiday luncheon.
The numbers are not yet final, but we expect to exceed $70,000 in net proceeds. Everyone was so generous with their time, talent, and treasure. Thank you to everyone who played a role.
